As Coroner I will work every day to ensure that families, victims of crime, and all of Eagle County are treated with compassion in their most trying times, given respect in their difficult decisions, and ensure that all of the obligations of the Office of Coroner are met with the utmost respect of Colorado Law.
The Coroner works independently of, but must partner closely with, Law Enforcement and the District Attorney. Not against them. As Coroner, I will work to foster collaboration, strengthen ties, and ensure teamwork with the finest law enforcement agencies in Colorado:

Most citizens of Eagle County never know their coroner until the need knocks on their door. As your next coroner I promise to ensure that when your family meets the Office of the Coroner, you are met with the compassion and respect you deserve in life's hardest moments.
About Chris Ryan
Chris is an attorney, based in Gypsum. Chris began his career prosecuting in Colorado Springs and Cripple Creek, where he handled complex cases including homicides, vehicular homicides, and accidental deaths. After moving to the Valley, Chris continued prosecuting in the 5th Judicial DA's office, handling cases across the spectrum including multiple cases involving death investigations.
Chris has a strong relationship with law enforcement in Eagle County, cultivated by mutual trust and respect.
After five years in prosecution, Chris hung his shingle and opened Ryan Law L.L.C, practice focused on criminal and traffic defense. Chris believes that everyone deserves to be treated with respect and compassion, and focuses his practice on representing indigent members of the community who could not otherwise afford legal counsel.
